Gloria Shapiro, Polaroids.

There is something so alluring about the look of a photo taken on expired Polaroid film. So much so that everyone with an iphone wants to emulate it. But there is no app that can replace the dedication to the medium. Trolling the web and second hand shops in hopes of acquiring the discontinued film, working with the bulky low tech cameras and sometimes messy older cartridges, it is all an important part of the process that helps give it its charm. Local photographer Gloria Shapiro has been spending the last year or so working with the antiquated medium, below are some of the results.
